Suspect(s) smashed a car window during an attempted break-in in Red Lodge last night - less than five hours after another suspected break-in attempt in the village was reported to police.

The incident happened at around 2am at a property in Gorse Close, when thieves smashed the window of a car in what appeared to be an attempt to move it from in front of the garage.

The suspect(s) then made an effort to force open the garage door, but were unsuccessful.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Bury Priority Crime Team on 101 quoting MH/15/177.

Police also received a call from a resident in Russett Drive at around 9.20pm last night, who believed there was someone in their back garden who had tried the lock on the door.

Officers searched the area but found no one or any evidence of an attempted break-in.
