Bury St Edmunds police issue community protection notices after reports of street drinking in town centre

Police in Bury St Edmunds say they are working to deal with issues related to street drinking in the town centre area and associated anti-social behaviour issues for businesses and residents.

They are calling for anyone who witnesses incidents to contact Suffolk Police on 101 – or 999 in emergency situations – or by submitting a report online.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokeswoman said: “Police have received a number of complaints from local businesses, residents and other members of the community regarding individuals consuming alcohol and causing anti-social behaviour within the town centre.

“Further enforcement will take place and we will continue to respond to these types of complaints from the public."
