Police continue to hunt for man reportedly stabbed in targeted attack in Bury St Edmunds

Police are continuing to search for a man who was reportedly stabbed during a targeted attack in Bury St Edmunds.

The man was reported to have suffered a stab injury to his leg or left side while another man suffered a serious head injury during the incident in Shillitoe Close on Saturday, August 18.

Police were called at about 6.35pm to reports of an assault outside involving two men.

Today (August 29), a police spokeswoman said the man with the head injury, aged in his 20s, was still in hospital in a stable condition.

She added that the man with the suspected stab injury had not been found.

No arrests have been made.

It is understood the man with the stab injury limped towards Albert Crescent, where police recovered a knife.

He is described as white, 6 ft 4 in tall, aged 25 to 30 and of skinny build with black hair.

He was wearing a black jumper, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

It is understood that he spoke with an Eastern European accent.
