Police appeal for information after spate of waste bin fires in Stowmarket

Police are appealing for information following a number of waste bin fires in Stowmarket over the last few days.

In Pages Close, two waste bins were set alight sometime between 1am and 2am yesterday morning, Monday September 7.

In St Peters Road, a wheelie bin was set on fire sometime between 5pm on Sunday September 6 and 8.15am on Monday September 7.

On Sunday evening, firefighters also tackled two fires at recycling banks on Illife Way - one at a textile recycling bank, the other a paper recycling bank - at around 9.15pm.

If you noticed any unusual activity in these areas or have any information about who started the fires, please contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting reference ST/15/3023.
