Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted bike theft in Thetford.

It follows an incident on St Michaels Close on Wednesday, August 26, at about 2.30pm when three men were disturbed as they tampered with a bike lock.

The victim gave chase running on to Mill Road, Button Island and then into town.

Investigating officer, PC Gemma Hamilton-Rout, said: “I’m particularly interested in identifying a man called Alfie who spoke to the victim while he was giving chase as we believe he may be able to assist us with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Hamilton-Rout at Thetford Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
