Bury St Edmunds Quakers will host two events at the Meeting House, in St John’s Street, to celebrate National Quaker Week from October 1 to 9.

Both are centred around the Quaker Testimony to peace and on Friday, October 7, at 7pm, the Journeyman Theatre Company will perform their play ‘Over The Top’. It looks at the growing role that the military are playing in our schools, particularly in regard to recruitment.

On Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoons, during Quaker Week and throughout October, an exhibition on loan from the Peace Museum in Bradford, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the awarding of the first Nobel Peace prize. The exhibition is open from 2pm to 5pm.

Both events are open to the public and admission is free.
