Photographers encouraged to get snapping Bury St Edmunds gardens
Budding photographers are being given the opportunity to capture the beauty of Bury St Edmunds’ Abbey Gardens.
The Abbey Gardens Friends group has launched a photography competition to encourage local people to take an active interest in their cherished town centre gardens.
Participants’ photographs must have been taken from within the gated Abbey Gardens precinct – this excludes the Great Churchyard, St Edmunds Statue and the Crankles – between June 19 and December 4, of this year.
Only one photo may be entered per person and it must be an original, free from any artistic manipulation.
Entries are to be submitted between September 1 and December 4, with amateur and professional photographers alike invited to take part.
The submitted photographs must be titled and emailed, along with the full name and age of the photographer, to email@example.com
They will be judged in January, next year, based on creativity and originality, composition, artistic merit, content and their ability to be reproduced as greeting cards.
