A SNOWMAN is being auctioned on eBay to raise money for East Anglian Air Ambulance – and bids have already topped three figures.
Peter Rawling, 26, of Broomspath Road, Stowupland, built Frostie the snowman in his garden on Sunday and thought it would be fun to post it on the auction site.
But he was astonished when the bids started rolling in and decided to donate any money raised to charity.
The two foot high snowman had already fetched £102 at the time of printing, with the auction continuing until 6pm tonight.
Peter said: “I have been building Frostie every year it has snowed since I was five, although he varies every year.
“I am incredibly chuffed – it has just taken off so well.
“It started off as a bit of a joke but then he started getting more interest and bids – it has gone crazy.
“Frostie seems to be all over the place on Twitter and Facebook, I have even had calls from people abroad interested in him.”
An air ambulance spokesperson said: “It’s a fabulous idea.”
