Pedestrian nearly hit by car on Stowmarket crossing

Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident of dangerous driving in Stowmarket.

The incident happened in Gipping Way at around 7.30pm on Saturday, February 14.

A man was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing when a black Volkswagen contravened the traffic lights and nearly collided with him.

An 18-year-old man from Needham Market has been reported for dangerous driving in relation to this incident.

Police are keen to speak with the driver of a silver car which was overtaken shortly before or anyone who witnessed the incident. Calls should be made to Sgt Adam Bennett from Mid Suffolk on 101.
