Modfather Weller had them spellbound for almost two hours as old and new numbers rocked across the woodland arena at Thetford Forest last night.
Paul Weller did not stint his audience and his gravelly voice and the band’s great backing were a treat, particularly Steve Cradock on lead guitar.
It was an evening of glorious sunshine and a great occasion to get there early, watch the crowds gather and enjoy some lookalike spotting - there were plenty.
Toy, the opening band were disappoiinting with overloaded amps but their youthful inexperience, which at times had you flinching from the thudding beat, was made up by their energy.
But it was Weller the crowds wanted to see and he again pulled pulled out an electrifying show providing us with two encores and of course Wild Wood was amongst them.
