Pair charged over theft of lead from Hartest church roof




Two men have been charged following the theft of lead from a church.

Lead worth about £30,000 was stolen from the roof of All Saints Church, in Lawshall Road, Hartest, at some point between Monday, October 14 and Wednesday 16 October 2019.

Police arrested two men in Lincolnshire on suspicion of the theft of lead.

Constantin Motescu, 32, of Sutton Hill in Telford, and Sucea Lanourentiu, 38, of no fixed address, were subsequently charged with theft on May 25.

They were remanded and were due to appear before Lincoln Magistrates' Court today (Thursday, June 11).
