Inconsiderate parking outside a Bury St Edmunds school could soon be a thing of the past.
For years, residents living near Sebert Wood Community Primary School, on the Moreton Hall estate, have complained about parking problems at the start and end of the school day.
With a single storey standalone block of four classrooms currently being built to enable the school to take on additional pupils from September, concerns are mounting over the effect it could have on traffic congestion in the area.
The council says a Traffic Regulation Order, proposed for September 2015 ‘as part of the planning consent’, could be the answer.
A spokesman for Suffolk County Council said: “This will impose restrictions on parking in the vicinity of the school at the start and end of the school day.
“The exact detail of the order has yet to be confirmed by Kier MG which is undertaking the highways works required to comply with planning conditions.”
