Detractors. Trolls. Critics. They are everywhere.
I just love those sanctimonious people who have a view on everything but when given the chance to become a councillor or take an official position, withdraw back into the shadows...only to resurface when something irks them again.
There have been numerous critics about changes to Bury over the years. Without change, it would be the same Bury I first saw in the early 1990s with a dusty old Cattle Market, few ‘sexy’ things to draw in people from outlying areas and little night-time food economy.
Thankfully, that’s not the case – thanks in no small part to Local Plans of old and the willingness of people to give views about what they wanted for the town and, just as importantly, what they didn’t want.
It’s that time again. An 8-week consultation starts on Monday over what the town centre should be like. It’s part of the borough’s Vision 2031 plan.
