I hope there are a few furrowed brows in the corridors of power this week.
Vision 2031 has reared it head once again and councillors are rightly worried about why the discussion on transport implications will take place in Ipswich.
I couldn’t agree more.
While I would most probably go to the Apex, Athenaeum or leisure centre to offer a view on the most important document to shape our town for years, I’m less likely to waste time and fuel shooting down the A14 to Ipswich.
The county council says there isn’t a room big enough at West Suffolk House to accommodate the meeting.
I don’t think anyone would argue with county supremo Deborah Cadman dusting off her old St Edmundsbury Borough Council contacts book and hire a decent venue over here.
Meanwhile, our new man in charge at St Edmundsbury (Ian Gallin) must also face the challenges of concerns of development at the Fornhams.
This is where we expect our high-earners to really deliver.
