Stowmarket Middle School, which closes its doors for the final time in July, is hosting an open evening tonight.
The event is open to pupils, parents, staff, volunteers and the wider community, celebrating the huge successes the school has achieved over the years.
The school is laying on a host of activities and displays throughout the evening, including a museum of past artefacts, photographs and memorabilia.
The middle school is set to close for good at the end of the term following Suffolk County Council’s Schools organisational Review in 2013.
To mark the closure, the school has also created a special commemorative book.
The book includes 36 pages of colour photos from the school’s archives and articles on its history celebrating the contribution the school has made to thousands of children in the town.
The book is on sale for £5 from the school reception.
Tonight’s open evening runs from 5pm to 7pm.
Tomorrow (Saturday) morning, two long-running PE teachers from the school, Neal Sheppard and Mervyn Evans, are holding a walk/run from Stowmarket Rugby Club to The Wetherden Maypole.
The walk begins at 11am and the run at 12pm. Everyone is invited to join in.
