An Olympic handball player joined 102 pupils from Rattlesden Primary School to help launch a national initiative encouraging children to keep active.
Louise Jukes, who competed in London 2012, took part in a one mile run around the village’s pavilion playing fields as part of the ‘GO Run for Fun’ campaign.
Headteacher Bridget Burke said: “It’s encouraging them towards a healthy lifestyle, getting them off the sofa and away from the DSs and iPads so they can be fit and active.
“We want them to just like the idea of taking part in sport, having fun and a good time. Children who are fit and active in their bodies are fit and active in their minds.”
