Number of Suffolk coronavirus cases rises to 28




The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Suffolk has risen to 28 - an increase of six in one day.

The figures, which were updated last night (Tuesday), show there are now also 42 cases in Norfolk and 429 in total across the East of England.

It comes after West Suffolk Hospital announced yesterday that a patient being treated at the hospital for coronavirus had died.

The patient, aged in their 70s, had underlying health conditions.

The hospital is still treating two other patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The total number of UK cases stands at 8,077, with 422 people having died.
