PEOPLE will go to any lengths to raise money for charity, but one woman from Stonham Aspal is going further than most – to the North Pole.

Hazel Kurz, 35, embarks on the challenge of a lifetime next month as she faces an eight day, 100km ski to reach the North Pole in temperatures of -40˚.

The clinical researcher decided to take up the charity challenge after she was made redundant from her job in Harlow, Essex.

She has been training intensively for six months with the aim of raising £20,000 for Action Medical Research, a charity which funds vital research to help babies and children.

Hazel said: “It really is a case of mind over matter.”
