MANY residents in Stowmarket will no longer have to face the bother and annoyance of cold callers coming to their doors.
On Wednesday a ‘no cold calling zone’ was launched in the town, after the success of the scheme in other parts of Suffolk.
The zone aims to protect vulnerable people from rogue traders and distraction burglaries and to empower them to say no to doorstep salesmen.
Officers from Suffolk Police and Suffolk Trading Standards were on hand to give advice and answer questions at the launch event held in Hamilton Way and Crown Street, in Stowmarket, on Wednesday.
A similar scheme was also launched in Kesgrave on the same day.
