Nine-year-old girl from Bury St Edmunds appears on BBC One's Michael McIntyre's Big Show




A nine-year-old girl from Bury St Edmunds appeared on Michael McIntyre's Big Show which aired on BBC One on Saturday.

Souparnika Nair who attends Sebert Wood Primary School was nominated by her dad, for her talented singing voice.

Souparnika performed at the London Palladium on Saturday in front of her dad, Binu and her mum, Renjitha and headteacher of Sebert Wood Primary, Peter Dewhurst and his wife.

Mr Dewhurst said: "It was amazing, she's so very confident. She is a fantastic singer. She doesn't let it go to her head at all.

"It was great to see her, it was interesting how they put the programme together."

Souparnika was surprised by film crews turning up in Bury St Edmunds on November 20 to tell her she has been chosen to appear on the show.

Binu, who works as a doctor at Addenbrooke's Hospital, said: "It was a really proud moment I was very excited."
