Newmarket crews attend fire in Fordham


Crews attended a fire in a combine harvester in a field in Fordham at around 3.45pm yesterday.

Two crews from Newmarket were sent to the field in Mildenhall Road where they found a fire involving the engine compartment of a combine harvester and approximately 25 square metres of stubble and loose straw.

A water bowser from Newmarket also attended at the request of the incident commander.

Firefighters used two hose reels and two breathing apparatus sets to extinguish the fire, which they had brought under control by 4.35pm.
