A CIVIC leader and a prominent GP are among those from West Suffolk recognised in the New Year Honours List.
John Griffiths, leader of St Edmundsbury Borough Council, has been awarded an MBE for services to local Government in Suffolk.
Local GP Richard West, who is a partner at Woolpit Health Centre, has received an MBE for services to healthcare.
Meanwhile Ann Tate, of Rattlesden, who is former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Northampton, has been recognised with a CBE for services to higher education.
Alexander Wright MacCormick, of Bury St Edmunds, who works in the Ministry of Defence at Grade B1, has been given an OBE.
