RETAIL giant TK Maxx is heading to Bury St Edmunds.
The discount clothing store will open on the site of the former Bennetts, in Robert Boby Way.
A spokeswoman confirmed the new store will launch at the end of the year.
The move has been welcomed by business leaders in the town.
Andrew Denny, president of Bury Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “It’s a good sign that the national chains are still opening stores here. They see Bury as an attractive place to retail.
“I’m sure it will have some impact on existing businesses but longer term it’s a positive sign.”
“In time of austerity there’s an increased demand for the more value end of the market.”
