A newly established community support group in Bury St Edmunds, associated with the Bury Rotary Club, had its charter evening at the Angel Hotel last week.

The Rotaract Club, sponsored by Bury Abbey Rotary brings together adults aged 18 to 30 to take action within their communities, as well as have some fun.

Emily Gould, a founder member of the club, said: “For anyone who would like to join Rotaract it’s a great way to combine a fun social activity with helping charities and the community.”

This year Rotaract, which has 18 members, are sponsoring four charities, St Nicholas Hospice, Stepping Stones, Focus 12 and Gatehouse, and plan to expand on these in the future.

The next event in support of these causes will be a gig night at The Oakes Barn, in Bury, helping the venue celebrate it’s third birthday with music from 2pm.

Anyone interested in joining should send an email to rotaractbse90@gmail.com
