Members of the Bury Water Meadows Group mounted a major clean-up of the River Lark and surrounding meadow areas.

Organised by chairman Andrew Hinchley, about 20 people filled bin liners with items such as bottles, cans, needles and broken glass.

The group is well known for successfully campaigning to protect the town’s Leg of Mutton site from development.
