Nearly 120 coronavirus patients at West Suffolk Hospital discharged

Nearly 120 coronavirus patients have been discharged from West Suffolk Hospital since the outbreak began.

As of 2pm on Monday, June 1, West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust has discharged 119 Covid-19 patients who recovered well enough to go home.

Seventy West Suffolk Hospital patients with coronavirus have passed away since the start of the pandemic.

As of 9am on Monday, there have been 226 cases in West Suffolk, 175 in Mid Suffolk and 148 in Babergh.

Meanwhile, the Office for National Statistics has today released the number of coronavirus-related deaths by local authority and location up to May 22 and registered up to May 30.

In West Suffolk, three deaths were recorded at home, 48 in hospital, 16 in care homes and one in a hospice.

One death was registered at home in Mid Suffolk with 41 in hospital, 16 in care homes and one in hospice.

In Babergh, there were 29 deaths in hospital, 21 in care homes, one in a hospice and one recorded as elsewhere.

There was one death at home in Breckland, 45 in hospital, 30 in care homes and one in a hospice.
