Rock ‘n’ roll, acoustic funk, reggae, indie and pop - these were just some of the musical genres on offer at last weekend’s popular StowFiesta.

Families flocked to Stowmarket’s annual two-day festival which has become renowned for showcasing top quality live musicians, talented stand-up comics and fun entertainment.

The free community event, which takes place at Stowmarket Rugby Club’s Chilton Fields, is organised by the town council and attracts hundreds of people each year.

David Blackburn, town clerk, said: “We were delighted with the success of the event. There was a large crowd present on the Friday evening, with higher attendance then in previous years.

“As for Saturday, the crowds just kept on coming, despite some unpredictable weather conditions in the late afternoon.

“The highlight, though, was Saturday evening - there’s no better sight than seeing over 1,000 people dancing and singing along, having a good time.”
