HISTORIC buildings in Stowmarket were targeted by vandals within a day of restoration work being completed.
Two windows were smashed on cottage buildings surrounding 18th century Abbots Hall, belonging to the Museum of East Anglian Life (Meal).
They had been restored, as part of a £1.8 million Heritage Lottery Fund, to show museum visitors examples of 20th century rural workers’ homes.
Tony Butler, Meal director, said: “I was quite annoyed because the whole organisation’s been working hard to restore them.”
A police spokeswoman said it happened between 7pm on March 3 and 8am on March 4. Anyone with information should call 101.
