Mulleys suspending commercial services due to substantial losses during coronavirus crisis

Mulleys is suspending all its commercial services from tomorrow.

In a statement today, the Ixworth-based bus company said the firm was suffering 'substantial losses' as vehicles were running with few or no passengers.

It added: "To date, our industry seems to be the only transport sector to have received no Government funding to assist with the COVID-19 crisis.

"Although essential for key workers and concessionary pass holders, for whom this may be their only form of transport, at this stage there is no option other than to suspend all commercial services from Thursday until further notice."

Subsidised services remain unaffected at this stage.

The company added: "Mulleys would like to apologise to all our loyal passengers and assure you that this will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as we look forward to providing you with our reliable service in the future. Please stay safe, follow the guidelines and keep well."

Services suspended from tomorrow: M11/22; M33 (7am-7.13am journey only will continue to operate); M44/55 (6.35am-6.56am journey only will continue to operate); M77/88.
