The biggest concern of people responding to an MP’s survey on the future of RAF Mildenhall was that it would lay unused for a long time.

West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock has thanked constituents who completed his online survey on their views and concerns about the closure of the base and to seek their opinions about what should happen to the site after the United States Air Force leave from 2019.

Mr Hancock said:“It is clear from the responses to the survey that local people are most worried that the site lies unused for a long period of time. I am determined to do all I can to ensure that does not happen.

“If all or part of the site becomes available after the American Air Force leave, we need to ensure that it is used in the best way to support the local community and economy.”

”I am very grateful to everyone who took the time to complete my survey about RAF Mildenhall.

“I will respond to each person who took my survey individually. If you would like to contact me to let me know about any concerns or opinions you have regarding RAF Mildenhall, please do let me know.
