A MOTHER and daughter plan to tackle the North Norfolk coastline on Thursday as part of the build up to an expedition to Borneo.
Sophie Moore will be spending her 19th birthday tackling the 32km coastal path between Holkham and Cromer to raise funds for the educationbal charity Raleigh International.
She will be volunteering in January as part of a Raleigh expedition to Borneo where she and her group aim to set up a gravity-water feed pump in villages in need of clean water.
Mum Clare is a consultant lung specialist at West Suffolk Hospital and will join Sophie for the first 24km.
Sophie, a former County Upper School student who lives at Hardwick Park Gardens, Bury St Edmunds, said: “Training for this event is the first rung on the ladder in preparing myself for the physical endurance I will need for meeting the demands of the Borneo projects. I want to make sure I can have the biggest impact out there possible.”
Raleigh International has mounted 20 expeditions to Borneo since 1987.
