A Thetford youth and family centre has made a start on much-needed roof repairs after receiving a £10,000 grant from the Morrisons Foundation.

Meet Up manager Mike Towndrow was presented with the cheque at Morrisons’ Norwich Riverside store last week.

He said: “This amazing grant of £10,000 means we can now start work to replace the main hall roof at Meet Up. It means we can secure Meet Up’s infrastructure for years to come and give our local community a centre they can use and be proud of.”

Over the past year, the centre – which is part of The Benjamin Foundation charity – has held a number of events and sought grants to replace its flat roof which is in a ‘very poor’ state of repair.

The Morrisons Foundation provides match funding for Morrisons colleagues and donate grants to registered charities undertaking projects that improve people’s lives.
