The Hageneth Morris Men from Haughley celebrated the start of summer yesterday with a sunrise jig.
The group were formed in 1977 to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee - and have kept on dancing ever since.
David Evans, Bagman for the dancers, said: “We’ve been dancing on the dawn of May 1 for many years.
“We were lucky to have found the most fantastic morning.
“There was a real ethereal aspect to it but it was below freezing.
“It must have been the coldest morning we have danced but also one of the sunniest.”
The group dance at local fairs and fates as well as travelling around Europe showing off their traditional dance moves.
David said: “We sometimes dance abroad - we have danced in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
“It is interesting to see how Morris dancing is appreciated in other countries.”
The group , who are performing at the Cheveley Fate on May 12, are on the look out for more members.
