The police helicopter was dispatched in Bury St Edmunds yesterday in response to ‘grave concerns’ for the well-being of a missing woman.
Police launched a major search for the woman, aged in her 20s, after being contacted at about 10am.
The search involved the National Police Air Service helicopter, officers on the ground, members of the public and Suffolk’s Lowland Search and Rescue were notified.
The woman, who is from the Bury St Edmunds area, was found in a car park on the Moreton Hall estate at about 1.45pm by a member of the public.
She was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.
