A flagship project hailed as the ‘way forward’ has seen Mildenhall Jobcentre Plus move into offices at Forest Heath District Council.
The partnership is the first of its kind in East Anglia.
Leader of Forest Heath District Council, James Waters, said: “We work very closely with local businesses and we are aware of a large number of firms in the area that are looking to expand.
“This move means that our staff and the Jobcentre Plus staff can work closely together to make sure we can supply people with the right skills for when these vacancies come along.”
The Jobcentre Plus was previously in Church Yard.
Manager Anne Cuts said “We saw this as a wonderful opportunity to work in partnership with Forest Heath to provide a better service.”
“There are other councils and Jobcentres that will be looking to replicate what has happened here. This is the way forward.”
