Michelin chef stars at Bury Food Fest

One of the region’s top chefs will take to the stage at the Ourburystedmunds Food and Drink festival over the August bank holiday weekend. Galton Blackiston from the Michelin-starred Morston Hall on the Norfolk coast will top the bill on Sunday 30th

Galton Blackiston is a regular on the BBC’s ‘Saturday Kitchen’ with James Martin and has appeared on many other TV food shows including ‘Market Kitchen’ and ‘Great British Menu.’

He has held a Michelin star for 14 years and enjoys promoting seasonal and local produce.

Ourburystedmunds Chief Executive Mark Cordell said: “We are delighted to have secured Galton for the opening day of the festival and he’s promising a great show in our Aga Rangemaster Theatre Kitchen.

“I’m especially pleased that we are able to announce this during our virtual food festival the Fab Feb Food Fest, which has really captured imaginations in the town. Bury St Edmunds has a growing and vibrant restaurant scene and both the summer Food and Drink Festival and the virtual one this month provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase just how much is on offer here.”

The Ourburystedmunds Food and Drink Festival will run from Sunday 30thAugust and as well as the shows in the theatre kitchen from celebrity and local chefs it will feature a wide range of local produce stalls and attractions including a farmers’ market.
