Being born six days late means little Mia Parish will only have had one birthday by the time she starts school.

She was one of just four babies born at West Suffolk Hospital on Leap Day, February 29, so her parents Jenna and Stuart, from Bradfield St George, will have to decide whether she celebrates he birthday on February 28 or March one until the next leap year in 2020.

Jenna said: “She was due on March 23, but was born at 10 past 12 on the 29th. She weighed 8lb 14oz.”

The couple’s other daughter, Lexi is four in a couple of weeks, and loves her new sister.

“She’s been very good with her,” Jenna added.

But if Mia was late, one of the other Leap Day babies born at West Suffolk Hospital was an early surprise for its parents.

The Londoners had decided to have a romantic weekend at the Ickworth House Hotel a month before their baby was due.
