Police are linking damage to 13 cars with the attempted theft of a bicycle in Bury St Edmunds last night.

Suffolk Police say a member of the public called them after challenging two men trying to steal a cycle in Victoria Street at about 11.30pm.

They then received further calls about two men of the same description smashing the door mirrors off 12 vehicles in the Victoria Street and York Road area, with another reported today. One car also had a window broken.

The two men are described as both being white and in their mid 20s. One is of medium build, about 5ft 8in, with mousey hair and wore dark tracksuit bottoms with a light long-sleeved shirt.

The other was about 6ft tall and or large build. He wore dark shorts and T-shirt.

Anyone with information should call Bury police on 101 quoting crime number BU/15/2358.
