Men charged with Naughton burglary due in court

Two men are due in court today after being charged with a burglary in Naughton.

Police received a call at around 3.50pm on Tuesday from a member of the public who believed they had disturbed a burglary at a property in New Road.

Officers returning from working on Operation Tourist, a day-long roads policing operation, spotted a vehicle believed to have been involved in the crime.

After a short pursuit, a stinger was deployed and the vehicle was stopped.

Two men were arrested and taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.

Patrick Galligan, 39, of Hawthorn Avenue, Colchester, was charged with burglary, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

Carl Williams, 39, of Roper Court, Ipswich, was charged with burglary.

Both men are due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
