Hillcroft House and Uvedale Hall care staff and residents raise more than £1,800 with memory walk

Care staff and residents from Hillcroft House care home in Stowmarket and Uvedale Hall residential home in Needham Market stepped out for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The homes hosted a memory walk, with 32 people taking part. Starting at Hillcroft House, it continued to Uvedale Hall and Needham Lake.

So far, more than £1,800 has been raised.

Amanda Atkins, Hillcroft House manager, said: “I could not be prouder of our staff, residents and relatives who came together for our memory walk.

“It was such a success because of the positivity and enthusiasm of everyone involved.

“We were lucky to have a bright and dry day for the walk. All along the way we received smiles and support from local people.

“Donations have been flooding in and we have far surpassed the fund-raising target we had set ourselves, so we are thrilled. This is a cause dear to us at Hillcroft House and Uvedale Hall. Many of our residents live with dementia so we see first-hand just how challenging their lives can be.”
