Man threatened with knife in attempted robbery in Skelton's Drove, Beck Row

A man in his 50s was threatened with a knife and told to hand over his mobile phone in an attempted robbery in Beck Row on Wednesday.

The incident occurred between 9.25am and 9.30am in Skelton's Drove near to the junction with Rookery Drove, when the man was approached by another man who threatened him with a three-inch flick knife and demanded he hand over his phone.

When the victim refused, the man, described as white, aged between 20 and 25 years old, 5ft 10in, of slim build and with blonde hair, ran off.

The man is also said to have been wearing a charcoal puffer jacket with rectangular stitching, a black beanie hat and dark denim trousers and he spoke in a local accent.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference 1748/19.
