A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle after being rescued by firefighters from a hole at a property in West Row, near Mildenhall, this morning.

Crews were called to the address in Eldo Gardens at around 10.30am today following a request from paramedics.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the man became trapped in a confined space at the property.

Crews from Ixworth, Elmsewell and Felixstowe were drafted in to help Mildenhall units free the man, because of the need for specialist equipment to be used.
