Man suffers serious injuries in two-vehicle collision in Thurston

Two people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries, following a road traffic accident in Thurston this morning.

Police were called to Church Road at around 8.40am to reports of a collision between a Ford Transit van and a Ford Ranger. Ambulance and fire crews and the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) were also in attendance.

A man in his 50s suffered serious injuries in the accident and a woman in her 30s suffered minor injuries. They were treated by medics at the scene then taken by land ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital. Both are believed to be in a stable condition.

The road was closed while police dealt with the incident, but has since reopened.
