Man rescued in Mildenhall house fire

A man had to be rescued from a house after a fire in Mildenhall this morning.

Firefighters from Mildenhall and Newmarket were called to the blaze in College Heath Road at 7.24am.

Within minutes the crews stated they believed there to be persons trapped inside the building.

A second appliance from Newmarket was called and at 7.40am a man had been rescued from the fire.

The crews then used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to fight the fire and ventilate the property.

The incident was under control by 8am and the crews were back to base just after 8.30am.
