Arrested man released under investigation after armed police incident in Bury St Edmunds




A man arrested after armed police were called to an incident in Bury St Edmunds last week has been released under investigation.

Police responded to reports at 4.15pm on Thursday, August 29 of a man who was believed to have a weapon outside Hardwick Shopping Centre in Bury.

He left the area and armed police, a dog unit and police helicopter were dispatched to trace him.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in Parkway at about 5.25pm on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

No weapons were recovered after police searches.

The man was released under investigation.
