Man left with fractured eye socket after being followed and attacked in Bury St Edmunds


Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was followed and attacked in Bury St Edmunds in the early hours of Saturday.

The man was followed by a group of five men, in St Andrew’s Street North, at about 3am when one of them assaulted him from behind - fracturing his eye socket.

The victim saw the group running back towards the town centre.

The group of five men are described as white and aged between 19 to 20-years-old.

Two of the men were wearing long sleeved sweaters - one grey and the other black.

Another is described as skinny and was wearing a white t shirt and another had on a black t-shirt.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Calls should be made to DC Jonathan Chapman at Bury St Edmunds CID on 101 quoting BU/15/3397.
