Man injured in late-night assault in Bury St Edmunds town centre

Police in Bury St Edmunds are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the town.

The incident took place at around 3am on Saturday, October 31 outside a fast food outlet in St Andrews Street North.

A 20-year-old man, who was accompanied by a 19-year-old woman, had a verbal dispute with a group of eight people which resulted in him being assaulted, sustaining injuries to his eye, cheek and lip.

Any witnesses to this incident, or anyone with any information in relation to it, is asked to contact Pc Jon Warby at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101 quoting reference 12095/15, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
