Man dies in Horringer crash

A MAN has died following a collision between two vehicles in Horringer this morning.

Police were contacted by the ambulance service at around 6:30am reporting a two-vehicle collision, involving a black Nissan Almera and a white Nissan panel van, in Westley Lane, Horringer.

Two fire engines, one from Bury St Edmunds and one from Newmarket, and a rescue vehicle from Bury were required to cut the driver of the Almera from the vehicle.

The man, believed to be in his twenties, received treatment from paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van, believed to be in his forties, also received treatment and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital, in Bury, where he remains in a stable condition.

The collision has caused the road to be blocked and diversions have been put in place.
