A MAN was taken to hospital by air ambulance today after being cut from his vehicle, which had hit a tree.

Fire crews from Stowmarket and Needham Market were joined by an Enhanced Rescue Tender from Ipswich to stabilise the gas-powered vehicle and remove its roof to allow paramedics to check the unconscious man.

It took the emergency services 45 minutes to free him. An air ambulance took him to hospital.
