Dublin man Robertas Piliukaitis charged in connection with 2014 armed robbery at Preston and Duckworth jewellery shop in Bury St Edmunds
A 50-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery which took place in Bury St Edmunds more than five years ago.
Robertas Piliukaitis, of Northwood, Dublin, was arrested in Belfast on Saturday by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland on behalf of Suffolk Police.
The incident occurred at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, November 4 2014 when two men threatened staff and customers at Preston and Duckworth jewellery shop in Cornhill with a black handgun.
They then left the shop with several high-value watches.
Piliukaitis was brought to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he was questioned and subsequently charged with robbery and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates' Court today (Monday, January 13).
